Brazilian Charles Oliveira defeated Michael Chandler in the main event of UFC 262 to become the new lightweight champion of the world, taking the title from Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Previously, the famous Youtube blogger knocked out the ex-UFC fighter.
In the first round, Chandler came close to winning but Oliveira held back his opponent’s pressure. To start the second round, the Brazilian struck several powerful blows to the American’s head, knocking him down and finishing him off at the net. He thus obtained an early, ninth consecutive victory. Earlier we wrote about how you can win by being knocked down.
Oliveira, 31, is the new UFC lightweight champion after the said title was vacated by Khabib’s retirement.
The former two-weight UFC champion has already reacted to Oliveira’s victory on Twitter – “Congratulations to Oliveira on becoming the 11th UFC lightweight champion. I wonder who will be the 12th…”
What other interesting event awaits us in the near future?
